Fungal Nail Treatment

£35 per session

(This price is for all toes, by treating all toes we are reducing the chances of fungus re-occurring)

Toenail fungus is a stubborn infection which can be unsightly, embarrassing on the toenails or fingernails. It is known as a difficult condition to treat and can last for many years.

Laser Treatment has been hailed as a breakthrough as it is fast and effective.

How does the laser work to remove it?

The lasers emit powerful bursts of light that go directly through the nail plate to the nail bed. The laser targets the infection beneath the nail, working to systematically destroy the fungus responsible for the infection.

Aftercare

After treatment it is very important to follow good foot-care practices to ensure that the infection cannot become reestablished. Advice includes:

  1. •Keep your feet clean and dry

  2. •Avoid synthetic materials and choose leather shoes with cotton socks to allow your feet to “breathe”

  3. •Ensure shoes fit well

  4. •Change your socks daily – more often if feet are particularly sweaty (or after exercise/damp)

  5. •Keep toenails short

  6. •Never share toenail clippers, towels, shoes or socks

  7. •Do not walk around barefoot in public places (swimming pools, showers, changing rooms) – wear flip flops or similar

  8. •Treat athlete’s foot, as this can spread to the nails

  9. •Treat any early signs of recurring fungal nail infection as early as possible to avoid it becoming entrenched. The sooner it is treated, the better the result will be

  10. •Be particularly vigilant if the toenail is damaged

  11. •Be careful if you use nail salons – their equipment should be sterilised or disposable, in order to avoid passing on infections
